The Wassenberg Art Center in Van Wert, Ohio, is well respected in Northwest Ohio and has excellent shows and programs, as well as two beautiful galleries! It's a wonderful place to visit when you are in the area. Check their website for current information and hours.

2009 HOOT Convention Dates - August 10 - 16. Trade Show Open to Public - August 14 - 16. HOOT has been a favorite convention of mine for more than 18 years! Like many decorative painters, I began my HOOT experience by going to the trade show. Why did I wait so long! I was blown away by the magnitude of the "event". In fact, HOOT is magnificent! I've had a booth at the trade show for seven years, then took a two year vacation, but will return this year with two partners: Cindy Vitale and Vera Collier. We hope to see many of you there!

I will teach at HOOT (Heart of Ohio Tole) in Columbus for a Two Hour Special Class on Tuesday, Aug. 11 (3:30 to 5:30). It's a cute frog candle wrap in acrylics. I'll also demonstrate watercolor techniques for Grumbacher, in my booth #526 during the trade show. A schedule will be posted in the booth. And on Friday, Aug. 15, I will be in the free demo area with a "Mystic Watercolor" for Grumbacher. On September 12, I will teach at Ohio Heirlooms of Tomorrow Society of Wapakoneta. It's a lovely design by Jill Ankrom called Colors of Summer. Contact me via e-mail for more info on this project. Surfaces are available.
